The project site includes an active railroad, Roaring Brook, and steep terrain requiring the construction of several access roads, staging areas, crane pads, and temporary stream crossings of Roaring Brook for access, construction, and removal of the existing bridges. An existing, abandoned, railroad bridge carrying the former Erie & Wyoming Valley (E&WV) Railroad over DL&W Railroad and Roaring Brook will also be rehabilitated as part of the project to facilitate construction access. The bridge will be returned to Lackawanna County after construction is completed and will be incorporated into a future walking trail system.

Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. We have no shelter; we are strictly foster volunteer based. Bridge to Home Animal Rescue is dedicated to providing dogs a temporary save haven in loving foster homes until a forever home can be found. The rescue provides needed medical care and makes sure each dog adopted is spayed or neutered. Our veterinarian bills for the year are over $100,000 a year.

Phase 3 construction is to demo the existing Interstate 84 bridge and start the construction of the remaining portion of the new Interstate 84 bridge and roadway. Phase 2 construction is to construct a portion of the new Interstate 84 roadway and bridge on the new alignment in the median between Interstate 84 eastbound and westbound. Traffic will use the newly constructed roadway and bridge during the demolition of the existing Interstate 84 bridge and the construction of the remaining portion of the new Interstate 84 bridge and roadway in phase 3. Phase 1 construction was to construct a 12-foot travel lane in the median on the eastern side of the Interstate 84 Eastbound Bridge. Once constructed, the right lane on Interstate 84 was closed to traffic and traffic was shifted into the left lane and the newly constructed lane. The right lane is being used to access the staging area and temporary access road.

Our dogs are kept in our homes until the perfect forever home is found. Bridge To Home is dedicated to providing safe and essential care in the home for individuals with disabilities and other vulnerabilities. Our direct support professionals are experienced, thoughtful, and well-trained. We are here to create an individualized care plan that is right for you and your family. In November of 2017 a group of dog loving ladies sat a dining room table and started a 5013c dog rescue after realizing there was a desperate need to help save unwanted and abandoned dogs, thus Bridge to Home Animal Rescue was born. The goal was to save 52 dogs a year and place them in loving forever homes.
The rescue solely relies on donations and the fundraisers to pay for this care. Please consider Bridge to Home Animal Rescue as your charity of choice. Bridge To Home is a foster based all volunteer rescue group dedicated to helping the unwanted, abandoned and neglected dogs. We have rescued more than 1,000 in our two years of existence.
